Fred's 5 Favorite Olympic Social Media Tools Series - Hootsuite

This is the final installment of a six part series in honor of the 2012 Olympic games titled, “My Five Favorite Social Media Tools and How to use Them.” Today we close our ceremony with a social media dashboard that enables us to monitor all of our social media activities. The dashboard and smart phone applications are called Hootsuite.

Now that we have searched and found the right potential clients (as discussed in Part 2), filled our feeds with interesting news (as discussed in Part 3), automated the following of the right audience (as discussed in Part 4), auto-responded with an appropriate welcome message and dripped ongoing educational messages about our services (as discussed in Part 5), it is time to raise a torch and complete the winning circle lap. Now you need to interact in real-time with your followers by letting your personality shine through and discussing your services as in effort to connect.

It is hard to keep up with your Twitter accounts, Facebook personal pages, business fan pages or other aspects of social media all at one time. What if you could see all your feeds in one place, comment on everything at the same time and segregate columns of data? That’s what Hootsuite does!

The Hootsuite Dashboard to Monitor Your Social Media

In the picture above, I can respond timely to my direct messages without the clutter and see my comments on Facebook, LinkedIn, Google+ and Foursqaure without logging onto those products. Hootsuite also let’s you schedule personal responses and replies up to 365 days in advance. Therefore, if there is a particular time that your potential or existing clients will more likely read your social media posts, usually in the morning between 7:30a-9a and after work between 5p-7p, you can schedule them in advance through your Hootsuite dashboard.

Finally this is where you answer questions, engage your followers, and let your personally shine through. This is perhaps the most important aspect of social media. Without this level of engagement your feed will just be robotic and one-sided. That said, thanks to all the other automated programs we have discussed you can keep your social media down to 15-45 minutes a day and keep your followers happy. These tools and many others should help you have a winning performance and achieve gold in your business!

What every day tools do you use to monitor your social media? How do you use Hootsuite? Are you using the free or the paid version of Hootsuite?
