Last week I kicked off a new series, in honor of the 2012 Olympic games titled, “My Five Favorite Social Media Tools and How to use Them.” Today I will discuss data mining the right audience who could potentially buy your products or use your services. You can accomplish this task through a great tool called, TweetAdder.
I discussed in Part 2 Twitter Search, the importance of profiling your potential clients or customers. Now you can use the same profiling data in TweetAdder, to automatically find your likely interested followers.

TweetAdder “Tweet Search” Screen
After you download, install, and key in your Twitter information, you can switch to the “Tweet Search” screen as shown above. This search will quickly provide you a set of Twitter users that match the parameters you will enter. See box A above. For example, if you wanted to sell books to writers in Dallas, TX you might add “writing” in box A, “dallas” in box B. Once you have the list, you can set up the program to follow them over time.
To allow TweetAdder to do this search automatically when you run out of users to follow, you could click “Add Automated Search” as seen in box C above. By following the right kind of people, and buffering the right kind of content (previous post), you can begin to feel the Olympic training of a gold winning campaign. TweetAdder has many other screens such as “Location Search,” “Followers of a User,” and “Followed By a User” that can quickly add a stroke to your victory. In my final two posts on this series, you’ll swim past the competition with tools to help you manage your timing and distribution of your content.
How are you following the right clients? What other tools do you use to find targeted followers?
